Backup the address book
|
Open Outlook Express File > Export > Address Book Click on Address Book Click on Text file (comma separated values); click EXPORT In Save Exported file as box, type MY ADDRESS BOOK Click Browse When new Window opens (top line box Save in - My Documents), left click SAVE New window opens showing the destination and filename you typed in, left click NEXT Tick all main fields (for an unknown reason First Name and Last Name are not already ticked -which seems like a silly Microsoft error, but you can tick them yourself) Click FINISH. The file created in My Documents is very small (just a few kilobytes) and is done in a couple of seconds. Make sure that you include the file when you do regular backups of My Documents and My Pictures to flash drive and CD or DVD
To get a copy of your OE account settings, Click Tools, Accounts Highlight your mail account Click Export Give it a name like mailsettings Navigate to where you want to save it –either straight to flash drive, or on desktop and make a copy to flash Ok It will be called mailsettings.iaf
Once new outlook Express is opened, you can click on Tools, Accounts, mail and Import Navigate to mailsettings.iaf ok Below is a useful
site in reference to email etiquette
